    The Melograno perfume from the Oficina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is a bouquet of soft, oriental floral notes. The fragrance immediately evokes sensations of warmth and hospitality, perfectly interpreting the symbolism of the pomegranate.

    Originating in Persia, the pomegranate was later exported throughout the Mediterranean region, but it is already depicted in the oldest Egyptian tombs. Established by Dominican friars, its history began when they gained access to Santa Maria Inter Vinea, a small church located outside Florence. In 1334, Santa Maria Novella became renowned for treating a wealthy merchant from one of Florence's most powerful families.
