Composed by Chris Maurice, it opens with a sharp, luminous aromatic freshness that is unlike anything else in the collection — and that's precisely what makes it our favorite.
Eucalyptus, star anise, and cinnamon assert themselves in a few seconds with a vibrant and slightly camphoraceous energy — an aromatic-spicy opening of almost mineral freshness, immediately recognizable. The heart softens and densifies: slightly floral and powdery sweet pea, slightly earthy and powdery iris, slightly smoky and rosy guaiac wood, slightly balsamic gurjum balm — a remarkably fluid transition between the fresh opening and the deep base. And the base dives into the most precious materials — slightly resinous and smoky Laotian oud, ambergris with its exceptionally persistent, slightly marine and animal facets, dry and slightly earthy papyrus, creamy tonka bean, musk that elegantly prolongs the sillage.

What is the difference between ambergris and amber?

It is one of the most precious materials in perfumery. Classic amber, on the other hand, is often a synthetic accord (labdanum, vanilla, benzoin). In Stargate, ambergris gives the base a depth and sensuality that few extracts at this price point can claim.
Is the eucalyptus in the top note very camphoraceous?
It is vibrant and aromatic, but not medicinal — star anise and cinnamon accompany and immediately soften it. It's not a "pharmacy" impression — it's a sharp, slightly spicy freshness that quickly fades to let the woody heart take over.
