Fior d'Arancio — "orange blossom" in Florentine — is Santa Maria Novella's most luminous and lightest floral water. The officina was founded in Florence in 1221. While Acqua di Rose plays on the deep and soothing Damascus rose, Fior d'Arancio expresses itself in an airy and luminous floral freshness, evoking Mediterranean citrus gardens in the early morning. Its formula is remarkably pure: a bitter orange blossom hydrosol obtained by direct distillation of fresh flowers, enriched with a touch of neroli essential oil — two complementary expressions of the same flower.
The texture is aqueous, crystalline, and absolutely light — it settles on the face like dew and penetrates instantly, leaving no residue. What is neroli?
Neroli is the essential oil obtained by steam distillation of bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) flowers. Distinct from floral water, it is more concentrated and brings a richer and more complex aromatic dimension — slightly honeyed, slightly spicy, very floral. What is the difference from Acqua di Rose?
