Androgyne Rhapsodie is Re.feel's most unique and daring signature — and the brand's only product not available in oil or cream. An exclusive signature, designed for a handcrafted solid soap made using the traditional cold saponification method, hand-made in the south of France. Each piece requires six weeks of manufacturing and drying — an incompressible time that distinguishes cold-saponified artisanal soaps from all industrial soaps.
The texture is rich, creamy, and melting — the lather is generous and enveloping, nourished by the glycerin naturally produced during the saponification reaction and fully preserved thanks to the cold process. Coconut oil cleans effectively. Shea butter and rapeseed oil nourish and soften. And cocoa butter adds extra richness. The skin emerges clean, soft, and nourished — never dry. Geranium opens with a fresh, slightly herbaceous and rosy floral scent. Jasmine brings a sunny, slightly heady floral warmth. Sandalwood creates a creamy, slightly smoky depth. And tonka concludes with a soft, slightly vanilla and slightly almond sweetness — an elegant, sensual, and memorable floral-woody accord that lingers on the skin long after rinsing.

What is cold saponification?
Cold saponification is an artisanal process that involves mixing vegetable oils and butters with caustic soda at a low temperature — without heating. This process fully preserves the properties of the oils and butters used, and retains the glycerin naturally produced during the reaction. The resulting soap is superfatted, soft, and nourishing — very different from industrially hot-saponified soap.
Why six weeks of production?
After saponification, the soap must dry and harden gradually for a minimum of six weeks — this is called curing. This drying time is essential for the soap's pH to balance and for the soap to become soft and stable for use. It is impossible to shorten this period without compromising the quality of the product.
What is tonka?
Tonka bean (Dipteryx odorata) is a perfumery raw material renowned for its vanilla, slightly almond, and slightly spicy sweetness. It brings warmth and longevity to fragrance compositions and is particularly appreciated in floral-woody accords like Androgyne Rhapsodie — where it softens and prolongs geranium and jasmine with an enveloping and memorable warmth.
How to extend the life of the soap?
Allow the soap to dry between each use on a soap dish that allows water to drain. A cold-saponified soap that is too wet will wear out much faster — drying it between each use can double its lifespan.
