Fougère is one of the most codified families in perfumery — lavender, oakmoss, coumarin, a structure born in 1882 with Fougère Royale by Houbigant and since reinterpreted in countless classic masculine fragrances. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, independent perfumer and doctor in plant chemistry, founder of Parfum d'Empire, inherits this structure and pushes it towards an unexpected territory — Bengal. A fougère that retains its classic aromatic elegance and injects into it the burning warmth, blond tobacco, and deep sensuality of a jungle unlike any other.
In this Eau de Parfum concentration, the composition opens with an aromatic and slightly muffled freshness. Lavender, tea, ginger, and mint establish a precise and slightly camphorated aromatic elegance — lavender in its noblest and most classic dimension, tea providing a subtle refined bitterness, ginger a slightly lemony spicy warmth, mint a slightly camphorated freshness that structures the opening. This is the European, classic side — but Corticchiato does not linger there. Hay, blond tobacco, and pepper arrive at the heart in a warm, dry, and slightly sweet material of unexpected density and sensuality — hay with its slightly coumarinic and subtly dry herbaceous facets, blond tobacco in its softest and most honeyed version, pepper maintaining a discreet spicy tension.
