Résolument Affranchi is the signature fragrance of Harold & Maude — founded in Paris in 2023 by Christian Paindavoine, with creations signed by Nejla Barbir. Its title says it all: it is a fragrance that does not seek approval. A brief and luminous citrus opening — a few seconds, then the heart takes over.
Rose and jasmine carry the saffron — spicy, dry, with its characteristic slightly leathery facets — in a floral-spicy accord of immediate warmth and asserted presence. Frankincense settles in the heart with its lightest smoky and resinous facets, which give the composition its almost mystical dimension. And the base is anchored in the deepest materials — oud with slightly smoky facets, earthy and powerful Indian patchouli, vanilla that softens the whole just enough, musk that consistently prolongs the sillage.
