On the Malabar Coast, in Kerala, pepper plants twine around trees like precious lianas. The backwaters glide slowly between the rice paddies, the air is warm and saturated with spices. The house founded by Jérôme Di Marino chose this landscape to compose the perfume that best represents us in store — the most vibrant, the most immediately recognizable in the collection.
The opening is direct and electric — vibrant pepper and slightly herbaceous and spicy clove leaf, fresher than the bud. An introduction that immediately establishes a presence. Vanilla and frankincense arrive at the heart in a warm and slightly resinous accord that tempers the initial impetus and gives the composition its depth. And the base — akigalawood, georgywood, and cedar — settles into a contemporary woody scent, slightly smoky, slightly spicy, that extends the sillage with modern elegance.

Akigalawood is a synthetic woody material from the Givaudan house, with slightly spicy, slightly smoky, and slightly earthy facets — similar to patchouli but drier and more contemporary. It's the note that gives Spicy Road its modern dimension and distinctive signature in the base.
Is the pepper aggressive?
No — it is precise and lively, not aggressive. The combination with clove leaf adds an herbaceous dimension that softens it, and the transition to the frankincense-vanilla heart is quick and natural. It's an elegant spicy, not a sharp one.
