Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, independent perfumer and doctor in plant chemistry, founder of Parfum d'Empire, does not try to tame it. Tabac Tabou unleashes it — and combines it with tobacco, honey and labdanum in a smoky, floral and animalic composition that fully embraces its intensity and complexity.
In this Extrait de Parfum, the composition opens with a luminous and brief clarity. Bergamot introduces a slightly citrusy freshness — clean, vibrant, which does not last long and that is intentional. It sets the stage for what follows, without giving any hint. Wild narcissus, rose and violet leaf then arrive in the heart in a floral material of striking density and complexity — wild narcissus in all its fullness, with its facets that are at once floral, slightly green, slightly animalic and slightly indolic, making it one of the most fascinating and divisive notes in perfumery. Rose gives it a carnal and slightly sweet counterpoint, violet leaf a slightly green and slightly powdery freshness. It is a heart that asserts itself — not by excess, but by presence.
