Socotra is an isolated Yemeni island off the coast of the Horn of Africa — nicknamed the "Galapagos of the Indian Ocean" for its extraordinary endemic vegetation. Its dragon's blood trees, giant aloes, flowers found nowhere else. PHENOM has transformed it into a tropical and solar floral, composed by Chris Maurice — a perfume that smells both of rare flowers and warm light.
Mandarin, peach, Calabrian bergamot, and davana open with a golden, slightly liqueured fruity freshness — the introduction is immediately sunny and luminous. The heart is that of a grand tropical white floral: sambac jasmine with more intense and intoxicating facets than classic jasmine, creamy and slightly carnal tuberose, subtly spicy ylang-ylang — a floral accord of controlled opulence. And the base elegantly softens everything — subtly gourmand white chocolate, discreet vanilla, unctuous sandalwood, sensual musk — a creamy base that extends the composition into a lasting solar sweetness.

Inspired by the island of Socotra and its rare endemic vegetation, it combines mandarin, peach, and davana in the opening, sambac jasmine, tuberose, and ylang-ylang in the heart, and white chocolate, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk in the base. What is sambac jasmine?
Sambac jasmine is a variety of jasmine native to South and Southeast Asia — more intense, more heady, and slightly fruitier than Mediterranean grandiflorum jasmine. It is the variety used in Indian flower garlands, jasmine tea, and many grand florals in niche perfumery. Its more assertive character gives Fleur de Socotra an immediately recognizable tropical dimension.
Is ylang-ylang very prominent?
It is controlled — its role here is to bring a slight spicy warmth and an exotic dimension to the white floral bouquet, without ever dominating it. It is a precisely dosed ylang, enriching without overpowering.
How does it differ from Ambrosia?
Ambrosia is a creamy tropical fruity scent — mango, coconut milk, jasmine. Fleur de Socotra is a solar white floral — sambac jasmine, tuberose, ylang-ylang, with a white chocolate base. One is creamy and soft, the other is opulent and luminous. Two very different PHENOM florals in their intention.
