Calendula Cream is the most direct expression of Santa Maria Novella's herbalist tradition — an officina founded in Florence in 1221 by Dominican monks. For eight centuries, the monks have cultivated and distilled medicinal plants from their gardens to extract their beneficial properties. Calendula — or marigold — is one of their reference plants: renowned since antiquity for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, and slightly healing properties, it is combined here with sweet almond oil and lavender for a remarkably gentle and effective treatment for sensitive skin.
The texture is supple, melting, and light — it penetrates quickly without leaving a greasy film, depositing an imperceptible and comfortable protective veil. The green botanical accord opens with a very natural herbaceous freshness. Lavender brings its discreet aromatic sweetness — subtle, soothing, slightly floral. Chamomile extends into a warm, slightly powdery softness.
