Pasta di Mandorle is one of the oldest preparations and most faithful to the identity of Santa Maria Novella — officina founded in Florence in 1221. Its very name is a direct legacy of the Dominican convent apothecaries: an almond paste, concentrated, restorative, designed for the most fragile hands. Not an ordinary cream — an intensive treatment paste that requires a slow motion, a prolonged massage, a ritual application.
The texture is dense, concentrated and velvety — it does not disperse immediately but melts gradually under the warmth of the hands during massage, penetrating layer by layer into the driest and most fragile areas. Vegetable fats and wax deeply nourish and protect. Sweet almond is creamy, slightly sweet, and enveloping. Bitter almond is dry, slightly acidic, and very precise — an authentic botanical signature, less common in modern skincare. How do you apply a treatment paste?
Take a small amount — less than ordinary cream — and slowly massage it into your hands until the paste melts and penetrates.
