The Velours Emulsion is the most elaborate hand care product in the Diptyque range — a house founded in 1961 on Boulevard Saint-Germain. Its refill reveals the richness of its formula: no less than four noble vegetable oils (jojoba, peach, sweet almond, sesame), two precious botanical hydrosols (immortelle and helichrysum, two names for the same Mediterranean sun-drenched flower renowned for its regenerating properties), anti-irritant licorice extract, soothing honey, moisturizing aloe vera, protective vitamin E. It is a high-end hand treatment, formulated with the exacting standards of luxury cosmetics.
The texture is simultaneously fine and rich — fluid and light upon application, it melts quickly without leaving a greasy film, while depositing a perceptible protective veil. The immortelle opens with a sunny, slightly honeyed warmth, characteristic of this Mediterranean flower. Petitgrain brings a green and slightly aromatic vivacity. Sweet almond softens and rounds out the whole.
