Sentimentale Powder Soap is the most delicate and intimate of Re.feel soaps — and Maison Diaphane's favorite in this range. Handcrafted in small artisanal batches in the south of France, using the ancestral cold saponification method, it shares the same superfatted base as the other three Re.feel soaps — but with an olfactory signature of rare elegance and precision: heliotrope, iris, rice powder, patchouli. Four powdery notes that layer and respond to each other to create something immediately familiar and impossible to quite name.
The lather is creamy, rich, and light — it gently cleanses with coconut oil, nourishes with shea and cocoa, softens with rapeseed and sunflower, without ever being harsh or drying. The natural glycerin preserved by cold saponification leaves the skin comfortable immediately after rinsing. Heliotrope opens with a slightly almondy and very soft powdery sweetness. Iris brings its slightly violet, very feminine floral clarity. Rice powder wraps you in an almost tactile softness. And patchouli creates a woody depth in the base that is so subtle it simply adds longevity without ever overpowering. For both body and face — the formula is gentle enough for both. A powdery, discreet, and memorable scent that lingers long after rinsing.

What is heliotrope in perfumery?
Heliotrope is a perfumery raw material with a powdery, slightly almondy, and slightly vanilla character. It belongs to the powdery family and is often associated with iris and rice powder for delicate and nostalgic feminine accords. In Sentimentale Powder, it sets the first note — soft, round, enveloping — before iris and patchouli take over.
Can it be used on the face?
Yes — the cold-saponified and superfatted formula is gentle enough for the face, including sensitive skin. The natural glycerin preserved by the cold process maintains the hydrolipidic film and prevents post-wash tightness. Use with very gentle motions on the face, without scrubbing.
Is the signature identical to that of Sentimentale Powder Dry Oil?
Almost — the dry oil develops iris, rice powder, and patchouli. The soap adds heliotrope, which reinforces the powdery-almond dimension at the opening. Both combine naturally for a coherent soap + oil ritual with the same powdery signature.
How to extend the life of the soap?
Allow the soap to dry between each use on a draining soap dish. A cold-saponified soap that remains in water wears out two to three times faster. When well dried, it lasts approximately 3 to 4 weeks with daily use.
