What is the difference between enzymatic exfoliation and physical exfoliation?
Physical exfoliation (scrub) uses abrasive particles that mechanically rub the skin—effective but potentially irritating, especially for sensitive skin. Enzymatic exfoliation, on the other hand, uses natural enzymes (like those in Papaya) that delicately dissolve the bonds between dead cells and living skin, eliminating residue without micro-lesions. The result is gentler, less irritating, but just as effective. Skin regenerates naturally without aggression.
How does the Holiderm® Complex work in this treatment?
The Holiderm® Complex is a unique synergy of three extracts: Grape berry (antioxidant, anti-free radical), Maritime Pine bark (toning, protective), and Calendula flower (soothing, healing). While Papaya extract exfoliates, the Holiderm® Complex immediately soothes potential inflammation, provides antioxidant protection against free radicals generated by pollution and accelerated cell renewal, and prevents premature aging. Why only 1 to 2 times a week?
Skin has a natural regeneration cycle of about 28 days. Over-exfoliating (more than twice a week) disrupts this cycle, can weaken the skin barrier, and increase sensitivity and redness. Once or twice a week is ideal: enough to eliminate dead skin and accumulated toxins, while respecting natural renewal and allowing the skin time to strengthen between applications.
