The house founded by Jérôme Di Marino has created an extract that smells exactly like that: something dark and beautiful, like an ember still glowing in the night.
The opening is immediate and dark — pure cocoa, slightly powdery, slightly bitter, enveloping. Birch arrives at the heart with its smokiest and deepest facets, combined with resinous and slightly sweet benzoin, which together create a woody texture of remarkable density. And the black vanilla in the base is not the sweet, confectionary vanilla of conventional perfumes — it's a deep, creamy, slightly woody vanilla too, that settles slowly and lasts for hours. An extract for those who want to leave a mark.

What is smoky birch in perfumery?
Birch in perfumery — extracted by dry distillation of birch bark — has strongly smoky, slightly medicinal, and slightly tarry facets. It is a dark and very characteristic note, close to smoked leather, which brings Estrella de la Mañana its singular depth and bold character.
How does it differ from Chemin d'Amande?
Both are oriental-gourmand extracts from Une Nuit Nomade, but in opposite directions. Chemin d'Amande is milky, powdery, luminous — an enveloping sweetness. Estrella de la Mañana is dark, smoky, intense — an incandescent depth. One for mild winter days, the other for evenings.
