Santal de Banda takes its name from the Banda Islands, an archipelago in the Moluccas, Indonesia — historically the heart of the global spice trade, where nutmeg and mace were so precious they changed the map of the world. Composed by Chris Maurice for Bey's Renaissance collection, this perfume explores a creamy woody register of rare elegance: spicy without aggression, gourmand without excess, deep without heaviness.
Cardamom, lemon, and rosewood open with a vibrant, slightly spicy accord — cardamom brings its characteristic warmth, lemon a light luminous acidity, rosewood a slightly floral and woody texture that softens the whole. Iris, nutmeg, and praline form a remarkably complex heart accord — powdery and slightly earthy iris, spicy and slightly sweet nutmeg, slightly caramelized and almondy praline, which bridges the heart and base. And the base settles into the softest material — smooth and creamy sandalwood, airy and milky whipped cream, subtle vanilla, dry cedar that elegantly structures the whole.
