Cacao Timur is the inverse demonstration — a cocoa bathed in the light of citrus, carried by a lemony and slightly peppery freshness that makes it almost ethereal. The house founded by Valérie Madrid, trained at Cinquième Sens, does not repeat what she has already done with Cacao Pimento here. She explores the other side of the same material.
In this Eau de Parfum concentration, the composition bursts forth from the opening with a vibrant, lemony, and slightly peppery precision. Timur berry — a Nepalese pepper with simultaneously lemony, subtly mandarin, and slightly peppery facets, extremely rare in perfumery — establishes an electric and juicy freshness, accompanied by blood orange, ginger, and Peruvian lime in a citrus accord of remarkable luminosity and vibrancy. This is not a conventional opening — it vibrates. Craftivity white cocoa, jasmine sambac, and freesia then arrive in the heart in a texture of unexpected softness and delicacy — the white cocoa, treated according to the house's signature artisanal method, brings a milky and slightly fruity creaminess, jasmine sambac envelops it with a fleshy and subtly honeyed white flower, and freesia with an airy floral lightness. Amber woods, fractionated patchouli, and tonka bean settle in the base with a soft and discreet warmth — the patchouli here is fractionated, meaning its heaviest facets have been removed, retaining only its woody softness.
