Véronique Stambouli, exclusive perfumer for the Grasse-born house of Unika, makes a radical choice for C4: to work with oud in its most luminous, most accessible, most contemporary dimension. Not the oud of grand mosques or dark souks. The oud of a sun-drenched Mediterranean garden — warm, fruity, almost sunny.
In this Eau de Parfum concentration, the composition opens with an immediate fruity and honeyed generosity. Osmanthus — a rare flower with facets that are at once floral, honeyed, and slightly apricot — creates a warm and juicy light from the first seconds, accompanied by plum and peach in a fruity accord of remarkable softness and richness. Rose, violet, and apricot then arrive in the heart in a powdery and velvety veil — the rose carnal and slightly honeyed, the violet slightly powdery, the apricot deepening the fruity texture into something denser and more enveloping. Oud, patchouli, and vanilla settle in the base in a controlled leathery and woody warmth — the oud here is dry and slightly woody rather than animalic, the patchouli discreet and melting, the vanilla softening the whole into a long-lasting and persistent warmth.
