Guillaume Apollinaire wrote "Le Pont Mirabeau" in 1912 — a poem about passing time, the flowing Seine, and fading love. Etat Libre d'Orange takes hold of it and turns it into a perfume. Not an illustration, not an easy metaphor — an olfactory transposition that captures exactly what the poem says: something ethereal, fluid, melancholic, never imposing itself, and which we constantly seek after it has gone.
In this Eau de Parfum concentration, the composition opens with a green and slightly resinous freshness. Fig leaf — milky, slightly sappy, slightly shadowy — immediately takes center stage, accompanied by pink pepper, bergamot, and elemi in a fresh and slightly woody opening that evokes a Seine riverbank on a spring day. Marine and ozonic notes then spread into the heart like expanding water — light, transparent, almost immaterial — while violet and frankincense disturb this clarity with a floral and slightly resinous sweetness, more internal, more melancholic. Sandalwood, musks, Orcanox, cedar, and vanilla settle in the base in a soft and enveloping foundation — warm, slightly amber, that lingers on the skin long after the visible composition has dissipated.
