What place do we give to perfume in our lives? It is around this question that Marie-Sophie, founder of Maison Diaphane , was invited to speak on the microphone of RCF , alongside three other professionals passionate about the world of perfume.
This rich and insightful conversation can be found in Le Mag en Anjou , a program broadcast on April 8, 2025 on RCF. To listen to or watch the interview again:

Perfume, an invisible language
From the very first minutes of the show, Marie-Sophie reminds us that perfume is more than just an adornment: it is a sensory and intimate language , capable of conveying what words sometimes cannot. It transcends time, seeps into our memories, and accompanies our daily rituals. Perfume, she says, is a way to connect with ourselves, with others, with places, and with moments in our lives.
She speaks with emotion about the link between smell and emotional memory: "Perfume has this wonderful ability to transport us, in a fraction of a second, to a specific moment, to a person, a house, a buried emotion."
A sensory gesture, an anchoring
In the interview, Marie-Sophie emphasizes the importance of restoring perfume to its sensory and spiritual dimensions , far removed from the dictates of marketing or performance. For her, wearing perfume is an act of self-care, a gesture of presence. It's also a way to inhabit one's body, one's space, one's time. "Putting on perfume in the morning sometimes sets the tone for the day. An invisible caress, an energy, an anchor."
Maison Diaphane, a place for olfactory encounters
When asked about the Maison Diaphane project, she candidly recounts the genesis of this adventure, built with her partner. A place born from the desire to share something more than just products: sensory experiences, genuine emotions, and human connections . She speaks of the carefully selected brands, chosen for their independence, creative boldness, and artisanal quality. And she emphasizes the attentive listening she cultivates with each client: "We don't sell a perfume. We welcome a person on a journey of discovery."
A tribute to the creators
Marie-Sophie also takes the time to acknowledge the work of perfumers, these artisans of the invisible who compose olfactory works as one paints a canvas or writes a poem. She reminds us that each fragrance bears the trace of a human gesture, an inspiration, a vision of the world. "There is something profoundly artistic about niche perfumery. These are houses that dare, that tell stories, that leave room for mystery."
A huge thank you to Marie Agoyer and RCF Anjou for this precious invitation and for offering a sensitive space for expression, at the crossroads of intimacy, emotion and creation.
