1. Jean-Claude Ellena

Born in Grasse in 1947 into a family of perfumers, Jean-Claude Ellena began at 16 as a laboratory assistant at Antoine Chiris before joining the Givaudan school in Geneva. He signed his first great success, First, for Van Cleef & Arpels in 1976, then Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert for Bulgari in 1992, a radically refined fragrance that marked a turning point in his style. In 2004, he became Hermès' sole exclusive perfumer, an absolute rarity in the industry, a position he held until 2016, signing all of the house's launches. Since 2019, he has been the olfactory creative director of Le Couvent - Maison de Parfum.

2. Marc-Antoine Corticchiato
Style: Mediterranean and artisanal. Achievements: the entire Parfum d'Empire collection. Influence: a chemist turned perfumer, he conceives each fragrance as a travel diary between Corsica and the East.
Of Corsican origin, born in Morocco, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato grew up between his parents' citrus groves and the Corsican maquis, in the family home in the village of Cuttoli-Corticchiato. Trained in chemistry, his fascination for aromatic materials led him to a Parisian laboratory before founding his own house, Parfum d'Empire, in 2002. He teaches at ISIPCA and has established an essential oil production unit in Madagascar. He was doubly awarded by the Fifis Awards in 2015 and 2016, as well as by the Fragrance Foundation France Experts' Prize for Corsica Furiosa (2015) and Tabac Tabou (2016).

3. Olivier Pescheux
Style: elegant and luminous. Achievements: several emblematic Diptyque creations, as well as perfumes for Dior, Montblanc or Paco Rabanne. Influence: Master Perfumer at Givaudan for 24 years, recognized for an olfactory signature that is both precise and sensitive.
Born in Paris in 1966 and a graduate of ISIPCA, Olivier Pescheux decided to become a perfumer at the age of 10 after seeing the film Le Sauvage. He began at Payan Bertrand in Bangkok in 1990, before joining Annick Goutal then Kao Corporation, and finally Givaudan in 1998, where he became Master Perfumer. He was one of the major artisans of Diptyque, signing many of its creations alongside fragrances for Dior, Montblanc, or Paco Rabanne. He passed away in July 2023, at 57, after 24 years dedicated to olfactory writing.

4. Dominique Ropion
Style: structured and sophisticated. Achievements: Portrait of a Lady (Frédéric Malle), La Vie Est Belle (Lancôme). Influence: his perfumes are both powerful and balanced, masterpieces of technique and emotion.
Born in Paris in 1955 into a family where his mother and grandfather already worked at Roure, Dominique Ropion studied physics and mathematics before training at the Roure Bertrand Dupont perfumery school in Grasse. He signed Ysatis (1984), his first great success, then Amarige for Givenchy, Alien for Thierry Mugler, and La Vie Est Belle for Lancôme. For over thirty years, he has collaborated closely with Frédéric Malle, whom he met at Roure-Bertrand, for whom he composed several of his most emblematic perfumes. Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2012, he also received the François Coty Prize in 2008.

His real name Christian Carbonnel, Chris Maurice is the heir to a prestigious family of Spanish perfumers: his grandfather, a French perfumer settled in Spain, founded the Carbonnel house in 1925, and his father is nicknamed the "king of oriental perfumery". Having become a Master Perfumer himself and one of the directors of Carbonnel S.A., he has collaborated with numerous European and Middle Eastern niche houses. 6. Nejla Barbir

Born in Tunisia in 1962, Nejla Barbir moved to Paris at 18 to dedicate herself to scientific research. After a doctorate in chemistry, she trained in perfumery at ISIPCA in Versailles. She began in 1987 at Flora Synth, under the direction of Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Dominique Ropion, then continued at Symrise as a senior perfumer until 1999. In 2003, she founded her own company, Parfumania. She notably participated in the creation of Dune for Christian Dior.

7. Véronique Stambouli

8. Annick Ménardo

Born in Cannes, Annick Ménardo was initially destined for psychiatry before turning to chemistry, then perfumery, from which she graduated from ISIPCA. Trained by Michel Almairac at Créations Aromatiques, she joined Firmenich in 1991, where she signed Hypnotic Poison, Bois d'Argent, Lolita Lempicka and Boss Bottled.
